Trash Mountain Project – Trip Three…Day Five
Day five of the trip brings us to the second day of training. Once again, the character of the Filipino pastors is evident. On each trip, I have been refreshed by the humility and love of these pastors. Their interactions within group conversations are kind and humble. As I have watched them on previous trips within their own churches, their leadership is best described as incarnational ministry. They seek to embody the presence of Christ with their people. And that’s a pretty solid plan!
The first day of training comprised a mix of two topics: marriage dynamics and sermon preparation. Yes, I know that is an interesting combination, but we found that our Filipino pastors and their wives were hungry to discuss both. Day two of training completed the topic of sermon preparation and finished the conference with a few hours on parenting.
As I end my third trip to Manila, these pastors and their wives are starting to feel like family. This trip gave me the chance to really know them. And now, on to Palawan for the first time!
