TMP: July 2016 Discipleship Post 3

We are home in Salina, so I thought this would be a good time to share with you some final thoughts regarding our trip. First, the time spent with the leaders in the Philippines was time well spent. We were able to encourage one another, discuss past discipleship efforts and cast some vision for the future. What a privilege to talk about the future with these leaders! Second, the trip has clarified for me some priorities for my work with TMP. The work of discipleship in any setting is a never ending task. At what point does a person ever reach maturity in this life? But, the conversations I had during the past week give me a clearer sense of what is most important and most immediate. Third, traveling overseas for a week with my son, Dylan, was such a great joy! We shared experiences that neither of us will ever forget.

So, now let’s look forward. In the photo above, you see me meeting with Rick Aranas in a restaurant in Manila. Rick in the Director of Trash Mountain Project Philippines. He is an amazing man of faith who is quickly growing as a leader. Be praying for Rick and the staff of TMP Philippines (Danica, Mike and Grace). They are doing the front line work supporting the pastors and leaders in trash dump communities. Additionally, I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic the first week of August. The purpose of that trip is similar to my recent time in Philippines. Also, the next few months will be spent planning for the future discipleship efforts of TMP. Please be praying for me during this time. Finally, before me in this work is the on-going effort of raising funds. If you feel led to financially support my work with TMP, then follow this link trashmountain.com/dave, and you can join in my efforts with TMP.
